Local investment reduces overhead costs and increases employee morale
Agoda.com is a global online travel agent, providing consumers with an abundance of accommodation options, whether they’re looking for luxury or budget hotels, villas, or even treehouses and teepees.
In 2005, Agoda.com was first launched as an e-commerce platform in Singapore. Today, there are over 3,700 employees globally in 53 cities, with the heart of its operations based in Asia. Oceania is home to a total of 40 staff members in offices located in Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland.
Rocco Bevinetto, Director – Market Management, Australia, oversees the support and account management of the team in Oceania, working collaboratively with Agoda.com partners to ensure the best prices in the market are available to the customer.
Rocco and both local and international members of the leadership team began seeking a solution to their workspace problem with a set of common criteria including, location, ambience, members, global presence and service. When Work Club was first discovered via a Google search, Agoda.com found the space and brand was one that was reflective of theirs, both are dynamic, multicultural organisations that welcome innovation and change. Following six months of searching, Agoda.com selected Work Club as the preferred supplier based on transparency, great service, shared office space environment, collaborative opportunities with other members, vibe and comfort for the team to feel relaxed to go about their work.
Agoda.com first joined Work Club Melbourne 287 Collins in June 2017 as Private Suite Members. In 2018, Agoda has seen growth and Work Club have been able to offer them a larger space to suit the needs of the evolving team at the same address.
Work Club has been beneficial to them in a few ways, “Allowed us to connect with other talented professionals across different sectors and secondly, the space provides us with a unique, funky workspace to host/entertain our business partners”.
Rocco strongly believes that joining Work Club has reduced a number of costs for the organisation, “Simple membership fees have been cost-effective, plus, having a localised office space in market has allowed us to reduce costs with less travel, not to mention grow revenue thanks to a local presence”.
