Work Club On Air Episode 2: Imran Sheikh

When we consider global warming and the state of our environment, it’s easy to think that the actions of the individual alone are not enough to make a significant impact. But this shouldn’t dishearten those who are concerned for the future of our planet, argues Imran Sheikh. He believes compassion is the true reason we should do our part to create a more sustainable future.

Growing up in the UK to Pakistani parents, Imran studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge. In his last year of study, he undertook two compulsory subjects on sustainability, marking a turning point for his career. Since then, Imran has assisted in the implementation of many sustainable energy solutions all over the UK, and is now working to do the same in Australia.

Imran is a strong believer that people should be ‘the change they wish to see in the world’. While he recognises that the push towards sustainability is a global task, he does not let that discourage him from acting on a micro level.

In 50 years’ time, he hopes his grandchildren look at him and applaud his generation for taking decisive action on climate change and leaving the world a better place than they found it.
